Last night I was going through pictures because my Cousin (L) asked to see some of Nonna and Nonna’s wedding day, I did find a few but there were photos too of those I had no idea of who they were. I found pictures of my great grandmother and Great Father along with a picture of one of Nonna’s brother Fred who I never got the chance to meet. He died in his eighties, but she lost a brother Donald (I believe) at a young age. I’d like to give a story for each and everyone photos but I can give a story of how Nonna found a second chance at love, after her fiancé died at a young age. I can tell you how my Grandfather had a family, but it didn’t work out with his first wife, and I can tell how in time my Grandmother would bare him four more children. I can tell you of a wartime love, full of romance and hope, as well as uncertainty. I can tell you too of my strong, beautiful Nonna who loved him to his very end, and to hers. I can tell you too of the strong woman that Nonna was, the things she taught us, the bond we have with her, even sixteen years after we laid her to rest.
