There is nothing exciting going on here for a few hours so I thought you might like a smile to start the day. This is a piece of fiction. Sometimes you just can’t win.
Leave Me Alone
“Hello, love. Let me help you. Getting your socks on can be very difficult when you get older.”
The old lady looked up, trying to focus cloudy eyes on the young lady kneeling at her feet.
“Pardon?”
“I said – can I help you with your socks?”
“ What did you say?”
“CAN I HELP YOU WITH YOUR SOCKS, DEAR?”
“There’s no need to shout. I’m not that deaf and I’m not your ‘dear’ either. My name’s Mary. And it’s okay, thank you. I can manage.”
“Oh sorry, Mary. Nice to meet you. My name’s Denise. I’m your home help today and I’d like to help. I’m not busy at the moment. Can you lift your foot up a little for me? It’s a bit hard to get your sock on with your foot stuck fast to the floor.”
“Please. I’d rather do it myself. If I let someone else do everything for me, soon I won’t be able to anything for myself. That time will come soon enough but until then, I just want to do it myself.”
“Well, I’ll help you just this once. You seem to be having a lot of trouble.”
“Of course I’m having a lot of trouble, you stupid girl. I’m trying to get them OFF, not on. Go away and leave me alone.”
The End
The photo is of my great-grandmother. I've put it up before. Notice how she hasn't stopped knitting while they take her photo.
At 9am we're going up to my friend's place to take delivery of a cabinet. That is quite exciting. I'll write about it after it's in place.

@JudyEv
Looks like knitting was a common passion among Indian as well as Australian Grand Mothers.
My Grandmother used to knit many sweaters and woolen caps. And they were so heavy and of real wool.
I still have a cap she knitted and when I wear it in winters, sometimes my ears get red.
My father used to wear a very heavy sweater knitted by my grandma, and he used to feel uneasy and too hot on some winter nights, and had to change the sweater.

Great imagination!! Looks as if your Great-Grandmother is looking at the photographers and thinking "Oh, they come again here wasting mine and their time and disturbing me here!!"

it's just like that joke about two guys, a sofa and a doorway. they thought the sofa was too big for the doorway so it's stuck. turns out one was pushing it in while the other was pushing it out.

Sometimes such remarks are so silly it's not worth answering. You'd think menfolk would give you credit for a little bit of sense. Sometimes it seems Vince doesn't think I can do anything without instruction.
He forgets I used to do nearly everything around the place when he was working long hours - leaving really early and getting home after dark.
