Am I truly evil? Ask Vanny.

Horse Jr. and I went cycling this afternoon. He took me to his elementary school, and also the middle school he'll be in next year.
On the way home I spied a garage sale and insisted that we stop and visit. I told him that there could be a pair of Rogers LS-3/5a loudspeakers there (worth $3,000), on sale for $25.
There were no Rogers speakers there, but there was a nicely-mounted Monet print there, so I bought it for $0002.0000.
On the way home, with the Monet paining under my arm, Horse. Jr. and I thought up an evil plan for tomorrow.
While his mom is at work, we're going to put the painting up in their house in a salient place and see if she notices.
Buwaahaahaa! Am I the most evil man in the history of the Earth?

Lovely print. Very nefarious of you. You're a bad influence on that boy.

First off, how were you able to cycle with a painting under your arm?
Secondly, you realize that the reason those people were selling the print is because all the yellow ink has faded out... Look up Camille Monet and a Child in the Artist’s Garden in Argenteuil to see it in full color.

@TheHorse But where are the green leaves and yellow flowers?

No, these people were not "sophisticated" enough to know that colors in the print may have faded. In fact, the fella who sold it to me said that his mother loves "her" paintings, referring to Monet. Comparing my print with the many on-line, it appears that the colors have not faded. The flowers in the background are red and pink, and the gold in the little girl's hair shows through just fine.

@LadyDuck That's what I was thinking too. The child psychologist in me noticed that her nonverbal behaviors (body position, etc.) mimic those of the adult. It made me like the painting even more, realizing that Monet was sensitive to such nuances.

@sallypup My thoughts about NPR smarties are best expressed in a Greg Brown song.

Heh. She actually gives me a pain in the neck sometimes. She's pretty strict with Horse Jr. He (Horse Jr.) knows I'm a bit of a trickster, planting seeds in random places and such like, but I guess I'm trying to teach him to only do "good" tricks on people.

Not evil, just crafty. That's a nice print. I'm sure she'll notice.
