Day 98
Promise 129
1 Chronicles 14:13 And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.
14 Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, ‘Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
15 And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.’
16 David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
17 And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations. (KJV)
Do you go from one bad situation to another? What do you do to climb out of the chaos?
The Philistines came at David again, and again he asked God what he should do. God told him not to go against them but wait because God was going ahead of him into the battle.
Waiting is the hardest thing people do. What do you do when you’re told to wait? Do you watch the clock? Does time seem to stand still? Do you take matters in your own hands because the waiting seems to take a long time?
I am not good at waiting, but I will wait as long as it takes. I believe the person when he or she tells me they will do something. Have I been forgotten? Yes, but there was nothing I could do about it.
David trusted God when He told him to wait. God gave David instructions about what to listen for when it was time to go against the Philistines. God would go ahead of David into the battle, and with the sound in the tops of the mulberry trees, God sent His troops ahead of David’s army.
As Christians, God has different plans for defeating Satan. He doesn’t use the same plan for every situation. If He did, Satan would know God’s plan and be able to defeat you when he comes against you. However, God uses strategy against Satan.
When Satan comes against you, you need to be strategic. You need to pray and ask God what you need to do in the attack. God is faithful. He will never let you down but will go ahead of you into the battle to defeat your enemy.
David’s fame went into every country. When you use strategy against Satan, he knows you by name too and trembles when you hit the floor in prayer.
It’s time to use prayer strategy when Satan comes against you. Ask God what you need to do, and if He tells you to wait. Wait and watch God get the victory.
Today is Veterans Day. You might not have served in the military. However, if you are a Christian, you are in God’s Army. Go and kick Satan where it hurts today and show him, he will not defeat you. Not today or any day.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for enlisting me in Your Army. Go ahead of me today as Satan comes against me, and let him tremble in fear because You are for me not against me. Greater is He who is with me, than he who is in the world. Let me not be afraid of what he can do to me, but let Satan be afraid of what I will do to him. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
