Today the installers came to put in our new windows. This meant that I had to try to stay out of their way for most of the day. I felt kind of sorry for the workers as it was so cold and windy outside today. They replaced windows in the kitchen and two of the bedrooms. So happy to get rid of those old drafty windows. Hopefully we will save some energy this winter.
Had any renovations done lately?

@Freelanzer I can understand double glazing would be a big help. I think it's common in Britain too.

@JudyEv There is even triple glazing which they often push first but I don't feel it is worth the extra money

Yes I can see so much clearer now and it will definitely impact the temperature inside during the cold winter months.

@Shavkat I am sure you will. It took us two years searching to find the one we are currently in but it was worth the wait.

@Freelanzer if'n ya spend funds to make yer home more energy 'fficient 'n comfy, such's worth the 'xpense. to spend a fortune tryin' to heat 'r cool a leaky vessel 'tis nonsense to me. i'm a very thrifty person, feel this to be a necessity 's the price 'f electricity 'n propane continue to soar.

I see you got those windows covered. Those are all good alternatives to a new window

Not lately, but recently. Had a break-in, so, the landlord put in a latch on the backdoor and a deadbolt addition to the front door. I feel safer now! Living on the first floor is great, but it's near to the little road we live on and much foot traffic living near a store and a gas station, so I'm careful too.

@oahuwriter So strange the things they break in to steal. When they broke into my neighbor's porch they took all her sweaters, gloves and hats and it wasn't even that cold yet. Anyway they discarded most of it on her yard perhaps they found something better at the other houses they broke into,

We had that happen to some homes on the street just recently. Hope they didn't get anything of value. Stay safe.

Seems they were disturbed for they took my pendant looks like gold, but is costume jewelry, but the sentimental value is priceless. Funny they took food!

We have had 2 years of renovations since the new owners took over---large hurricane windows, new cabinets in kitchen and bathroom, new air conditioners, etc!
It's like living in a new apartment!

Good that the owner did all those renovations, Does that mean your rent went up?

Those new windows should lower your heating bill. I recently had a new fence installed in my backyard. The original fence was on it's last legs.
