Celine Dion was born on March 30, 1968, and is a Canadian singer. She began her career as a teen star with a series of French language albums in the 1980s. She gained international recognition by winning the 1982 Yamaha World Popular Song Festival and the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest in which she represented Switzerland. Dion learned to speak English and was signed with Epic Records in the United States. In 1990 she release her debut album in English, "Unison". She received worldwide fame in the 1990s by releasing several best-selling English albums, 2 of which were certified diamond in the United States. She also had a series of #1 international hit singles. Dion continued to release French albums in between each English album...one became the best-selling French album of all time; and 3 were certified diamond. Dion had the highest-grossing concert residency of all time in Las Vegas between 2003-2007; and her World Tour (2008-2009) was one of the highest-grossing concert tours of all time. Her style is influenced by R&B, gospel and classical. She also sings in Spanish, Italian, German, Latin, Japanese and Mandarin Chinese. She has one 5 Grammys and has sold 200 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. Her concert tours and Las Vegas residency has grossed over $1.4 billion; and her net worth is estimated to be $700 million.
