My desktop’s clock and calendar are not working right. No matter how I reset it to the current date and time, it doesn’t catch up because it will turn late after series of shut down. I try to find a solution by googling around but it looks like I cannot find the right solution for it. Why Oh! why? I cannot browse to websites if I do not reset the date and time to its current state every time I turn on my computer. This started when I have my CPU reformatted during the time that I couldn’t restore my computer to its earlier state and it just keep on initializing without progress so I decided to have it worked by a technician.

You probably need to replace the small button backup battery on the motherboard. This battery usually lasts for a number of years (three to five or sometimes longer) but runs out in the end. It's not hard to replace but it means opening the case of a desktop or the little door on the underside of a laptop, checking which battery is required and replacing the old one.

Most probably Your battery is bad. It si located in the motherboard of your computer. You can do it yourself if you are used to opening your computer.

@ZedSmart If are not familiar with your computer, you should not meddle with it better you ask some technician to change that battery for you. battery does not cost much but technician is going to charge his visit free which is quiet substantial.

Now I know. Thanks. I do not touch any internal parts of my computer because I'm afraid I would damage it more because I'm not familiar with it. Anyway, thank you very much for the help.
