It seems our very JJ has inadvertently provided me a link to something that has managed to quite simply, make my day! As some of you here may be aware, back in the day I used to be an editor. I was editor of FrightNet Online Magazine from 1997 until about 2001-2002 when the magazine stopped being published. I was also editor of the horror fiction anthology Dark Whispers, which is still available via several outlets—including the obvious one which I will not mention here as to avoid having my post deleted. So, what made my day? That old magazine is still out there. Not in its entirety. Not every issue. But this Wayback Machine thingy JJ shared allowed me to find FrightNet, and it just tickled me to death. I have not seen this website in years, and was amazed that I could find it. I thought I would share it here. Brought back a LOT of memories. I have to admit as well that while it was my decision to pull FrightNet, there have been many occasions I have regretted that decision AND many a time I have thought about bringing it back. I truly believe that had I continued with FrightNet, because of its format at the time, this site would be much bigger today than it was back then. And it was pretty big back then.

I swear somewhere along the line I had mentioned my alter ego, Ivan S. Graves, and the sort of business I was in during the late 90s early 2000s. Maybe not. But was happy to see it again, that old site, and share it. I am really hoping the powers to be don't pull my post.

It was fun going back to this old post and finding it again. I had not forgotten about my former self and this former magazine. But I had forgotten about the link, and I am happy to find that it still works. Neato stuff.

@porwest I'm glad the time producing it was worth it. I'm sure it was a great online magazine.

When I did the magazine back then my aim was to make it have the look and feel of a paper one. There was always a cover, a table of contents page, and of course the contents. It was a lot of work doing a site like that back then. You literally had to write the HTML from scratch, line by line. It made putting the magazine together a very laborious thing, but it was worth it.

@just4him It was a LOT of work. But worth every minute. I have thought about bringing it back several times. I think had I kept it going, today it would be profitable. And I know quite a few people involved with Chillers TV, and so I think it could have been made into a show eventually. I know a lot of producers still from the old days. Maybe I should pitch it.

I was really happy to see it. I wish all of the issues would have been archived, but the few that are make me smile. The last time I donned my Ivan S. Graves persona was to write a foreword for a short story collection by R.K. Finnell called Grue Tales. That was a couple of years ago.

Yes. lol. Horror is still my preferred genre. Not slash-o-matic stuff. But true horror. Yep, that's me. lol
