No, this isn't a type of mushroom, or a type of Asian or Thai food.
It's not some sort of made up world in a fantasy novel either.
It's involuntary spasms of the muscles, often the eye lid.
It's what I have dealt with off and on for the past couple of weeks. It can be caused by stress, tiredness / fatigue and too much caffeine.
A warm compress might help relieve it. I haven't tried that yet, but only because it tends to go away within a few minutes of starting.
Do you deal with involuntary eyelid twitching?

It's common when you are in front of the computer for long hours without taking any breaks

@Butterfingers none of the things she listed here would be reasons to cause mine today but yours would. I was online many ours yesterday doing surveys on Swagbucks without taking a break.

@Butterfingers I had not thought of that, but that is atleast part of the reason mine was doing it. I have had it happen without being on the computer though.

I limit my caffeine now, if I have any at all. In my teens and early 20's, caffeine was about all I drank. I began to discover that it was the cause of a lot of my health problems.

@LadyDuck I drink coffee so seldomly, and maybe a soda once a week. I need to drink more water. I drink apple juice, orange juice and kombucha otherwise.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I drink two cups of coffee in the morning and one soon after lunch, that is all the coffee I drink. I never drink caffeinated sodas... well I drink no sodas at all.

I hate when I get this. Usually it goes away pretty fast but today it has been doing it all morning. It’s really visible and I have to go three places in town today. I’m going to look like an idiot

Mine hasn't done it today, but I have gone out before and my eyelid was spasming. It made me feel like an idiot for sure!

It could have been a mix of both, or maybe too much use of the computer? Another person suggested that as a reasoning.

@ScribbledAdNauseum that can be a reason too. It is now gone thankfully

that doesn't happen to me very often so I just ignore it. It can be annoying though

It seems to be happening to me a lot lately. Even today, My eyelid has twitched on it's own.

No, it hasn't happened to me and I hope it goes away for you. They say warm boric acid compresses help the eyes.

It has gone away, but if it happens again I'll try just warm water compresses first.

I've had it happen to me like that before as well, but it's been ages since I've been that exhausted.
