Good fortune next year!

My mother used to say that if you could catch a falling leaf it meant one month of good luck in the following year. I'm not superstitious but it is fun trying to catch them and let's face it, the bit of extra exercise you get running and jumping to catch the leaves probably does do you some good!
Up to now I had only managed two, because although the leaves started to fall a while ago they only fell when a breeze blew, and then of course they would whisk about here and there and be really difficult to catch!
But last night was the first hard frost and as a result, this morning the leaves are literally raining down from the trees.
I caught one on the way to school with Little One, but we were in a rush so couldn't spend long. On the walk home I caught another five. I only hope there are still some left at home time so Little One gets another chance!

hmmm, the leaves here must be broken? 'r perhaps 'tis my perception 'f good luck? yepperz, i'm a leave catcher. quite the challenge 's most're flyin' sideways 't great speed. hope lil'un 'twas able to catch some :)

I learned from my friends in elementary school that we should make a wish when we catch a falling leaf.
So one time, many years ago when I was still a kid. My dad's employee caught an owl and I felt sorry for the owl actually. So I waited under then tree for a leaf to fall and then I made a wish. I wished for the owl to escape. The following day, I was told that the owl did escape and flew away.

Such a lovely site the leaves.
Same here yesterday was glorious sun and warmth and yet the lovely leaves falling.
