Planning a party

Vince has four brothers and two sisters (one deceased). One brother will turn 70 on December 1, another will be 80 on December 3 and a third turns 82 on the same day. There will be a celebration for the 80-year-old on December 1 at his daughter’s place which is just over the hill from us. That is a lunchtime barbecue.
As that is the actual birthday of the brother turning 70, most will come to our place after the lunch to celebrate his birthday. Two of his three daughters and his seven grandchildren will also join us. The other daughter lives in York in England.
There will probably be 22 at our ‘party’. Several will bring caravans and some will bring tents to sleep in.
We are going to have a sort of a progressive dinner. We have cleared a place down near our dam near an oak tree that we have planted there. We’ll have champagne and nibbles under the trees then move to the ‘music shack’ where we hold our concerts. We’re hiring a bain marie and will have hot finger food available.
We’ll take down our cornbag toss game and the bocce/petanque balls in case people want to use them. Finally, we’ll come up to the house for a barbecue dinner. As you might imagine, I’m starting to make lists of ‘things we have to do’.
The photo shows the oak tree before we started trimming up around it.

It seems to be like a grand party and I'm sure you are both excited and overwhelmed with the work.

Sounds like you have an amazing birthday celebration planned! I'm not much of one for big birthday celebrations, but even this seems like it would be fun for me to attend. Should I bring a gift?

@JudyEv Hmmm....I will try to think of a meat I can bring that will be absolutely loved by all, something we can cook on the grill. Drinks are no problem, I definitely got that covered. I'll bring enough for everybody.

@moffittjc You just need enough for yourself but there will be six teenage boys so no doubt they'll help you eat any leftover meat - and probably any extra drinks as well.

They will wonder who is taking over their paddock. They probably won't be pleased!
