The Old Man and the card saver

Life is full of complexities. Yet, it is also full of simple things which bring joy to our mind and heart. Today, an Old Man did a transaction at an ATM. After the transaction completed, he forgot his Debit card in the ATM card slot. He started walking away. He had gone a little far, but a much younger, some 40+ man came running after and handed him his card. It was good for that old man, else he would have known it a little later, and who knows the card might have been misused. Or else, the Old man would have needed to call Customer care centre and follow a long process. I do not know who the old man was. Yet I know that 40+ someone. Guess.... Still guessing... It was I. Is it self-bragging(if such a word exists). Or is it fine to tell this here? Perhaps, I cannot decide. Yet I felt happier. I did something good. It did not earn me profit. The old man did not know my name, he would forget my face. Yet I feel good about it. Perhaps, we all can do such little things, and yes, God gives us a chance to do all this. Didn't Lord Krishna said "Do your deeds, forget about the fruits!"

You did a good job! Pat your back. And you deserve all rights to brag about it. Loved your narration style

@arunima25 thanks a lot. And I feel even happier about the appreciation about the narration style. I wish that the writing contest winners too would like it.

Of course you feel good about it and so you should. It was a kind thing to do. I commend you for your good deed too.

@JudyEv Thanks so much. If I had not been able to give the card back, the old man would have faced a lot of hassles.

I did guess it was you. It is not really bragging but it gives us a chance to think about whether we would do the same thing for someone.

Very good my friend, you really did a good thing. Such acts of humanity is a dire need in modern days if you ask me.
