Feeling sleep deprived

Last night I finally relented and let my granddaughter have a sleepover. I don't like them because I don't sleep well through all the giggling and chatting which lasts until the early hours. She only had one friend but they didn't really drop off until around 3 am and woke up at 7.30 am so I'm a bit bleary eyed and drinking numerous cups of coffee this morning.
It's only once in a while and they do seem to enjoy it so I shouldn't be such a mean nanny. Anyone else have sleepovers for their children?

That's what I did more than once but to be honest it's not often so I tried to be lenient.

@LadyDuck My grandfather on my dad's side was so strict that I was afraid of him but my grandmother used to spoil us.

We stayed a couple of weeks at my grandmother's house, she had to be strict.

Yes, my son and daughter in law also behave like that when our nephew and his wife they come to stay at their place, when they almost stay awaken till about 3.00 am or so either by watching some movie or playing the Cards. This I have observed few times when we have visited their place! I don't feel bad for this as they enjoy their week ends like this!

I don't mind too much as it isn't often She used to have more sleepovers when she was younger but now I think she is getting too old for them

@AKRao24 I only have a small house so it's easy to hear everything that is going on during a sleepover so it means I miss sleep which I hate.

@sprite1950 I think it is worth it. I had experienced this during my childhood years.

That is tough. Even though there were two it still can get rowdy.

Yes I'm not a fan of sleepovers and try to get out of them whenever I can.

@Hannihar They are noisy and messy and I don't sleep well when she has a sleepover but I do allow them now and then.

My father rarely allows me to have a sleepover except if it’s schoolwork. The only time he allowed to have a sleepover at our house was when my cousins come over.

I don't have that many although her nanny on the other side of the family allows her to have a lot.

@sprite1950 that’s nice. I think it’s good once in a while, but it’s still in your discretion.
