Not to be confused with "Border" (1982) featuring Jack Nicholson, this is a 2018 movie made in Sweden or Denmark.
I was initially dismayed because I had to read subtitles. But no mind, the movie was so... unusual... it kept my attention anyway.
You start watching from the viewpoint of "Tina". Tina has some facial deformities and is a customs officer. She has a special gift - she can smell emotions, such as fear. It makes her very skilled at her job, knowing just which people to detain and search as they enter the country.
In spite of her odd facial characteristics, she has a live in boyfriend who is a dog trainer. And recently she has attracted the attention of a mysterious traveler named Vore, which will lead her to some life changing discoveries.
*****Spoiler Warning Beyond this point*******
Seriously, don't read beyond here unless you don't mind knowing the plot of the movie.
After Tina meets Vore the traveler - they are similar. Something I thought was funny no one mentioned within the movie - but Tina and Vore share similar facial deformities. Seeing as their looks are rather outlandish it seemed surprising to me that no one seems to notice this.
Tina and Vore have a strange, animalistic attraction to each other, and Tina invites Vore to rent her guesthouse, much to the chagrin of live in boyfriend Roland, who quickly finds himself out on the doorstep.
Finally Vore shares the big secret with Tina - they are trolls. But Vore has a lot more ill will toward humans than Tina does. With the discovery of Vore's unfertilized egg in the fridge which looks exactly like an infant but, I guess isn't (one of the stranger sequences of the film) - Vore admits to comitting atrocious crimes - which leads to Tina setting Vore up to get captured by the authorities.
The film ends with Tina receiving a package with an infant troll in it.
***** End Spoilers*****
So, I wouldn't say it was a favorite movie of mine, but it is totally unexpected and captivating in spite of having plot errors.

So true. Sometimes there are some great movies that don't do well at the box office for whatever reason. but were a totally enjoyable watch, anyway
