Did you save any money today?

We went to both Wal Mart and Dillons today. I went to Dillons specifically for some things that had digital coupons. So I saved there. It was things I needed like potatoes and butter.
Bought some clothes from the sale rack, again, a savings. I am supposed to try to have "nice" clothes.
Hubby had wanted to shop yesterday. Any place we go is thirty minutes to an hour away. I made him wait until today when we were going to be out. . . so that saved time, energy, and gas.
Not only that, we went after church which is a half hour away. Instead of eating out, we had nice sandwiches and apple fritters in the car. So we saved money, at least twenty dollars, by doing so. It also took less time than going in to a restaurant and eating. So savings there as well.
I am pleased with our day.

I would say that I saved. Claudia came to visit me and she said that she would fix the broken sprinkler so that I would not have to pay anyone. I was alone the rest of the day and I have only eaten part of the many leftovers from last night´s dinner.

It is good when your children help you out, and leftovers are always good money savers.

These days I just spend ... sometimes it seems to me that to make money I would not make enough as I spend

We should not eat them, but we do. It is a fried dough with pieces of apple in it, then with a glazed frosting.

I try to eat before I go out shopping, especially when grocery shopping is on my to do list. We all tend to spend more when we are hungry. I wait to do all shopping while I am in town after I drop Little Miss off at school. Or I wait until I pick her up from school. Gas is so expensive.
The first place I hit is the clearance racks whenever looking for anything. Whether it is food, clothing, or anything else. If it is marked clearance, I'll check it out.

Nice job. I did save but online instead. I went for the sale at target.com for tide free with which I bought 3 and am supposed to get a $10 gift card but I also got a 5% discount for using my red card plus I got 2 points per dollar for using Mypoints. I did't drive at all so I saved both time and gas.

When we lived in the other town hubby was all the time running out for this or that. He would still like to do that instead of waiting.

We are getting better at that. Hubby decided to buy a bunch of produce last week and so far it is going to waste. . . I was not happy.

You certainly save a lot. I figure I cannot spend a penny now but have to save everything until December

I agree with you that when going out, to have a meal packed, instead of going to a restaurant. The people I go out with get mad at me. They always want to go to restaurants. As for saving money today, I made candied kielbasa, which is coin-size pieces of kielbasa mixed with grape jelly and BBQ sauce, cooked in a crockpot.

I have done the same thing with little smokies in the jelly and sauce. Never knew it was called "candied" anything.
