This happened back in 2007. A would be hijacker (of a plane) was thwarted by a cunning pilot who got over the loud speaker on the plane and instructed his passengers to be ready to attack. He spoke French, a language that the hijacker did not speak.
His plan was to land the plane roughly so that the hijacker would be knocked off balance. As soon as this happened, the passengers were to attack.
Their means of attack would leave a lasting impression. Boiled Water was thrown on his face and chest before he was beaten into submission.
The man hijacked the plane to seek asylum in France.

I thoiught so too, and kind of clever of the pilot to realize the man didn't speak French and warn the passengers.

Yes, they were. Especially as it seems they thought the man might be part of a terrorist organization. That was not the case, but they were concerned he might have been.

It is! Especially since some of the passengers thought the guy might have been part of a terrorist group with a bomb on the plane.

Very bad for him, but clever of the pilot.

Yes, I think it would make a good movie plot.
