Sitting alone on the stool in front of our small store I am myLotting while sitting alone on the stool in front of our small store facing not so busy city street. I am ensconced on reading about Christmas stories written by some myLot users. I know Christmas season is the happiest time of the year but with your loving parents are already gone, how could you be happy? I miss them. I miss how they make me happy during Christmas Day. Right now I am a bit melancholic though I have my own family, my children to make them happy. I know some of you are not celebrating Christmas, but it's the time traditionally observe to bring peace and goodwill toward men. Christmas is love. Family is love too. Thus Christmas is family.

Like you, my parents have gone ahead. But Christmas for me will always go on as long as I have the resources to fulfill my vow of tradition.

@Nakitakona this morning my wife and I were talking about Christmas day and I said nothing will change. The family tradition will continue as long as we can afford. She agreed.

@Alexandoy our Christmas tradition is a family gathering during Christmas eve. The usual Noche Buena family dinner. Family group picture taking.

Oh I see. Christmas plays a great part in ourself of growing up with a loving parents at hand. Since they're gone the only consolation we may do for them is to be grateful and always remember them.

@Nakitakona that’s what I’m doing while they’re still here. I don’t want to live with regrets.

@mlgen1037 Make them happy whenever possible. Their happiness is the manifestation of how you take care of them.

You are right, Christmas always brings back memories of Christmas' past and of those we have lost. We have to learn how to treasure all of those good memories and carry own to fulfill our life for those around us.

@Nakitakona I agree if it is taken in the proper meaning, the birth of Jesus Christ.

At the age of 84 I have very little family and/or friends left from my younger days so I amake a new 'family' as I go along and every holiday is celebrated with them!

I understand you perfectly, this year we lost my grandmother recently and I know that it will be hard to sit down at Christmas dinner and wait for the new year, nothing is the same, I know that over the years it will be more bearable just remember them with happiness because we are in This world borrowed until we have to leave and accept that.

You're right. Let's continue the legacy which our late parents handed us that family is love. Without them love is still edified family's solidarity.

My family is mostly gone now. My grandparents on both sides are gone. My mom and dad are gone. Just have my daughter and her two kids. That's it!

Never postpone Christmas celebration for it can be done in many ways. It can be done with others especially friends or with the least of our brothers and sisters.

Our parents are never too old to die and we never become so old that we do not need them or miss them. But they keep watching us from heaven!
