Short notice from our batch rep, a classmate is home from LA, and another flies from Singapore to join the meet-up. The mini reunions have become frequent, on a spur of a moment notice, we converge to welcome a homecoming mate.
This time, we convened at the posh Filipino cuisine Crisostomo @ Eastwood. A tat expensive, a tat to satisfy the craving for Pinoy food, and a tat apt for an outpouring of narratives only women with substance could attest.
There was a classmate bitter over her good-for-nothing husband, another one quite forgiving, another did let go, and another fine with come-what-may.
Yet, we listened. The stories were harrowing, the disillusionment mind-boggling. Who are we to judge? The decisions were not ours to make. But we were there to listen, and offer comforting and reassuring words, shoulders to lean on, assists if need be.
Who would have thought that life could be so trying? We dreamed of wonderful lives, and were given trials instead.
The bill was "wow" - for food we can actually cook at home, but nevertheless, the comfort was there, for wives and mothers.
In the end there was a concession, that each one did well, for the family values are kept and the children are all right. We have ran the race and kept the faith.

I admire you for good quality writing. And no matter where we are in the world, it seems there are trials. And we look for the same thing which is good relationships either with SO, parents, children or friends.

Thank you, Mitchelle. And you know what, good writers do recognize good writing. So, kudos to you as well.
How are we to know, as teens, that life actually has more thorns than a bed of roses? Somehow, our parents, our teachers, our old folks missed a lecture on pain. Had someone prepared us to the fact that dreams could be nightmares, instead of letting us meet the hard facts head on, we could have changed gears and slowed down, read the signposts clearly before proceeding again.
Yet, that would also mean preempting situations that would not even probably happen. Sigh. So, we really have to realize mistakes and miscalculations as we live our lives.
Watch the signs. Have courage and be strong.

@eileenleyva I sometimes think I am not equipped for life. But I'm glad there are lot of resources to help us online. I'm working on healing and contentment.

@yoalldudes Life does brings sorrows. Without that, we won't feel the joy. Healing is a recourse. We have to get back on our feet, if we want a wonderful life. For many, the wounds do leave scars, and we are reminded of the past. But the past is behind us now, it's today that is important. Seal tight the past and live today. Be gracious to your self, for the self is all we've got. Have a wonderful life, dear friend.
