1901 - Marconi receives the first transatlantic radio signal (the letter "S") in Morse code in Newfoundland.
1917 - Boys Town is founded in Nebraska by Father Flanagan as a farm village for wayward boys.
1923 - Bob Barker was born. He is a retired game show host and producer. He hosted The Price Is Right from 1972-2007 and Truth or Consequences (1956-1974). Barker also hosted the Miss USA Pageants from 1967-1987.
1915 - Frank Sinatra was born. He was an American singer, actor and producer and has sold more than 150 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. He was a teenage idol, a member of the Rat Pack and one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. He died in 1998. Enjoy Sinatra's rendition of "The Christmas Waltz":
