A Treat for an Old Person.

Talk about my expenditures, my daughters do keep track, for they provide me allowance for my pleasure - like the movies.
So, when I told them I treated an elderly to a lunch @ French Baker, they asked me why? First, the elderly could afford it. She is far richer than I am. Second, I need the money for car maintenance, et al.
Sigh, I really have no reason why I paid for the lunch, when the elderly was the one who requested me to bring her to the mall for a pair of shoes. Her daughter will turn 18, and she will attend the party in Palawan. But I did feel she needed the love and the caring, for her life @ 83 is reduced to helping others financially. I wanted her to know how it feels when somebody else pays for her meal.
I even gave her my new scarf from Singapore which a classmate gave me. Told her to keep warm - especially at the airport.
She looked at me when I dropped her home and uttered words of thanks, for all the convenience she has not experienced in a long time.
My pleasure, truly.

You're blessed for such help and generosity you extend to the elderly. For you, I know it's more blessed to give than to receive.

I do love to see people happy. Loving another person is now very easy. It's as if you see the face of our God in them.

@Nakitakona That is the simplest truth that every one must know.
Reason why we must keep our infectious smiles.

Just doing something for someone else , who shows you truly are. You but a smile on her face and joy in her day.

That springs from the fact that 'Whatsoever you do to the least of My brothers, that you do unto Me,' says the Lord, our God.
We have to 'seize the day' each day. When the old lady said she needed a pair of shoes, that's an opportunity to serve the Lord.

Well I guess it's for a different purpose that you did that to her. It was not to impress but to show her what care is really all about. I think her thanks was such a sweet sounding one to reach your ears. Maybe your daughter's just need to know what your purpose is and they will understand you.

In hindsight, perhaps my subconscious tells me I will grow old, too. I am getting old, actually. When that day comes, when my daughters would be preoccupied with their professions and their own lives, and I find my self alone in an empty nest, I'd like someone to come and assist, too.
Do unto others what you want to be done unto you. The golden rule.

You have a big heart and that makes you really rich! I am sure that lady would have appreciated it so much. You gave her something that no money in this world can buy.
