It Was Just a Dream

I had a dream about my husband last night. I went to the funeral home to see him one last time. They had prepared his body for cremation. He was lying on a stretcher, naked to the world. Like how God had created Adam, the first man. Since he was naked I decided to inspect his body, starting at the head. His head was slightly elevated as if it was on a pillow. Behind his head I noticed a small box and it had torn papers in it. I could see the torn papers had his handwriting. I assumed they were going to burn the papers along with his body. His hair wasn't silver any more. It was back to his natural brown color when he was a young man. No gray hairs anywhere. His body was fit just like when he was young. He showed no signs of having suffered from any kind of illness like heart disease. His no longer had a hernia. When I saw that, I immediately looked at his legs and feet. They weren't swollen any more. They were strong and sturdy. Behind me, on the floor were his clothes that he had passed away in. They were folded neatly in a stack. I assumed the people who worked at the funeral home wanted me to take them with me. I turned back and looked at my husband and all of he sudden, he made a movement that made me think he was alive. I didn't leave the room, but ran towards an opening ( a door I guess) and called out to the workers “Hey! Hey! It looks like my husband is alive! You can't cremate him! You need to check!” They said “No lady. Your is husband is dead. We're gonna cremate him. You paid us.” All of a sudden my husband sat up straight on the stretcher. I shouted to them: “Look! Can't you see? He's alive!” The workers said: “Sometimes a dead body has an involuntary muscle movements. They can even sit straight up. Trust us lady. Your husband is gone.” Nobody was in the room. It was just me and my husband's body. My husband got off the stretcher and started walking towards me. All of a sudden there was all kinds of confusion around us. People were running helter skelter everywhere! I don't know what caused all of the commotion. But in the midst of the confusion I saw an opportunity. I looked at my husband, smiled a huge smile and said: “Grab some clothes and put them on. Let's get out of here!” Then I woke up. Disappointed. Because it was just a dream. +++ In Memory Of: Charles Nathaniel Fox (1951 – 2019) Loving husband, Devoted father, Good man

I love it when I dream of loved ones I have lost. I was so upset that it took so long for my son to appear in a dream. When he finally did, I didn't want it to end, either. God bless you!

I’m so very sorry for the loss of your husband. He was a very handsome man. I’m sure your dream was his way of letting you know he is okay and misses you as much as you miss him. I’ve had similar dreams regarding my mother. My deepest condolences.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband. Maybe it was God's way of telling you your husband is always with you, even if only in spirit or in your heart.
