A few days ago I took my husband back to the doctor for his second fallow up before he can return to work. There at his second fallow up since he was still in a lot of pain from his work injury the doctor order for another set of xrays this time doing the 5 views because in the ER two weeks ago they only did 2 views which didn’t show anything. These set of xrays where able to get a picture of his 8th rib which is broken. It’s still healing and the doctor was able to confirmed that it’s non displaced (fancy medical way of saying it’s broken but not inwards where causing damange or out wards causeing damned.) since it’s in place surgery isn’t an option for fixing so that’s means several weeks of healing for him. He is allowed to go back to work with a 15lbs weight restriction so he’ll be in the secretary office till his rib heals.

I broke all the ribs on my left side a couple of years back when the rope swing I was swinging on broke, and I fell to the ground from about 30 feet up, landing on a tree stump. I had to go to the hospital, I missed a couple of weeks of work, and it took almost 10 weeks to fully heal. Dealing with broken ribs is no fun at all, since there is very little they can actually do. I had to sleep sitting up in a recliner, because the pain was too bad for me to even lay down, no matter which way I laid.

At least for him it’s 1 rib which is more manageable then 10 ribs. Which is ouch either way. He has said the pain is decreasing slowly.

@ShyBear88 I knew it would take a long time for my ribs to heal, but after about 6 or so weeks I still wasn't feeling any better, still had a lot of pain, and it still hurt really bad when I coughed or sneezed. I was super worried that my ribs weren't healing, but after about the 8th week I finally started noticing a little improvement.
