Rose Sunday.

The only Sunday of the year when Padre wears PINK cassock - that's today - Gaudete Sunday. The Holy Mass commences with 'Gaudete in Domino semper,' meaning 'Rejoice in the Lord always." Advent uses the color purple which, I think, symbolizes two things: the penitent nature that connotes intense waiting, and the royalty of the coming Messiah. Purple suggests hope for the Christ. Pink is an expression of joy. A sight for tired eyes. That said, the liturgy brings us to a peculiar situation when John the Baptist, in prison, sends his disciples to our Lord, telling them to ask our Lord if He is the Messiah. Our Lord simply told them to tell John what they see: the blind can see, the lame can walk, the dead brought back to life. That is the sign of the coming of the Messiah, when people verbalize the amazing Power of our God. A joyful Sunday, everyone.

There’s another Sunday during the liturgical year when pink or rose vestment is used and that is on the 4th Sunday of Lent which is also called Laetare Sunday.

@sunrisefan I know I am very particular at watching the priests when they change cassock colors. Fascinated, actually. I don't know how the Pope signifies the season through the vestment. Isn't it he only wears white?

Hehehe! That's okay, Ms. Eileen :) Some priests use only the violet vestment or stole because pink is only used twice a year so (probably "nagtipid") they do not procure such color.

I made a mistake there. I want to edit because our friends here might take my first line hook, line and sinker, and that is not correct. What do you think, shall I edit or make an erratum?

@sunrisefan Yes, another discussion is better. Perhaps some vestment color coding. I will think about it and perhaps post something on the Colors of Christmas. Thanks for the advice, dear friend. You are a savior. Ha ha

Probably another discussion to make the correction will do, Ms. Eileen, because those who have already read the original discussion might not be able to read the corrected discussion again. Just my opinion :)
