What I Gained From Mylot

I learned English in school.But even after clearing graduation with distinction I did not have the confidence to express myself in English.
I gained this confidence when I joined mylot.Mylot is the site that provided me with the opportunity to express myself in English.
I am sure I am not the only person who feels his knowledge of English got improved after joining mylot.There must be many others who feel likewise.
Are you one among them?? Do you feel mylot provided you the confidence to express yourself in English??

I love writing but lack of time doesn't allow me to enjoy writing for long articles or stories or for that matter any writing genre. And so writing does not happen so frequently. This site helps me to express and refine my writing skills through short discussion posts. It doesn't take that much time and effort.

@arunima25 I too love writing,but I prefer writing in Hindi.Mylot provides me the platform where I can express myself in English without fear of being ridiculed for any grammatical mistake. This fearless and conducive atmosphere has given a boost to my confidence to express myself in English.

@arunima25 Thanks.Yes,I love to use Hindi everywhere.My state language is Oriya.Besides Hindi I use Oriya also.Hindi is my mother tongue.Oriya is my another mother tongue.I use English only when it becomes inevitable.When we have so many languages in our country,why should we use a foreign language in our day-to-day life?? English is a great language and ,if we can, we should learn it.But our own languages are most important for me.

I understand. When I worked at the university here we had foreign exchange students. We would assign an email buddy to them before they came here to converse in English. It works and myLot is a great resource for that platform. Congrats to you.

Well, for me, English is my native language. But I do get that there are many people here whose native language is NOT English, and a site like this can be very useful in getting better at speaking it, writing it, and expressing oneself using it. And of course us native English speakers are always happy to provide help and guidance where we can.

@simplfred You are absolutely right.I agree with you that here on this platform we need to understand each other.Mylot welcomes everyone no matter they have a perfect knowledge of the English language.When I joined mylot, my English was even worse.Now I have improved my knowledge of English and the credit goes to mylot.

@Treborika that's what I feel.On mylot we come across people from different countries.We communicate with them in English.In the process our commanf in English is improved.
