I just told someone on here that I want some eggnog but can't get anywhere to buy some. I can't find the post now to answer, but something popped up on my phone with directions to the nearest Walmart and it said I could take Uber to get there. How scary is that? What do you think? Is Big Brother watching and listening to us?

@akalinus chaps my hide coz these folks make money from sellin' schtuff that to me they'd no legal right to. but, when ya look 't their fine print (those danged 'free' apps) they purty much give their intent. ya gotta be super-spoofed'n then very limited 's to what'cha can do with these gadgets. nearly all those apps'll not let'cha use 'em if'n they can't reap the rewards.

@crazyhorseladycx Maybe I belong back when there was no internet. Life was simpler then.

I don't blame you. People say it is okay because they have nothing to hide. I hate my privacy being invaded, especially by people or agencies I don't trust. It is getting harder to keep our private moments from prying eyes and ears.

It sounds like your mobile phone is linked to your computer, that the only thing I could think of. I never link my phone to my computer, I feel like it would invite hackers.

Maybe the hacker found a way to get into your computer @akalinus ?

@rebelann I have a security app on the phone that I run a scan almost every day. My laptop has an antivirus and a paid version of Malwarebytes. If they say a site is not secure, I believe them and pass it up.

I have the internet on my phone. I don't think they are linked but I could be wrong.

That is really spooky. I wouldn't like that at all.

I did not like it either. I turned off my location button a long time ago but they had a map from my house. They found me anyway.

I know but with advances in technology, he is getting ever more invasive. Our lives are none of his business.

There is a high possibility that he is. Have you read Brave New World?

I have read that and 1984 each a couple of times. They are both scary worlds and we are getting there. I wonder if Huxley and Orwell were time travelers.

@akalinus Yeah. They got in the TARDIS, travelled to the year 2019 and said gosh! We have to warn people about what's going to happen! We have to write a book about it!

@sharonelton Orwell got his dates wrong but a lot of things in his book are happening now. Why do you think they want smart TVs? They want to come in our living rooms, listen to everything we say, interfere in our lives. It is about power and control.
