We're becoming very predictable

In a previous life, as in when he first left school, my husband worked in a bank. He remembers facts and figures quite well mostly and I asked him today when decimal currency came to Australia. As I knew he would, he immediately launched into a ditty about the 14th of February, 1966. This was an advertisement which was played over and over on the radio in the months eading up to the introduction of decimal currency. I don’t recall it really but he knew it by heart.
I teased him, saying he was getting SO predictable. Often, I know what he is going to say in answer to a particular question. I’m no better. I guess after 48 years of marriage it’s to be expected that our partners become ‘predictable’. And, of course, at times he still surprises me.
Photo is of one of a 1927 florin - well before decimal currency.

They often joke that people who have been together for long periods of time can read each other's minds, and often finish each other's thoughts and sentences without even realizing they are doing it.

@JudyEv Has anyone ever told you that they think you and Vince have a resemblance to each other? I've heard that after couples have been together for long periods of time, they start to look like each other.

@moffittjc I guess it could be worse. Some start to look like their pets. I do think we look alike in this photo.

I heard a saying that after two decades of marriage, couples start looking alike more like a sibling
Well I am into my 20th year of marriage. Your Golden Jubilee Year is fast approaching

Yes, you get to know how they think after a few years and can be pretty sure what they are going to say especially about certain subjects.

True. I know all his stories but I'm good as a prompt if he forgets a detail.

We have an ancient poem "hearts which beat in unison are linked",means affectionately attached to each other or know each other well.

It's basic human nature to become predictable.

i collect the older coins, they are much more fun! I wonder how many years of marriage results in the known answer....

Vince collected coins for a while with a view to selling them later but there isn't much demand for them at the moment.
