Secret Santa

How is everyone doing tonight? I am exhausted and have 1 more hour left of work. I am not sure why I am so tired, maybe because business is a little bit slower than what I am used to. Not sure. Either way, I am not loving it. On the other hand, I am happy to be employed, and to be able to occasionally sneak on myLot when things slow down a little bit. Does anyone else here celebrate Christmas or any of the holidays at work? Do you have a party, or do a secret santa-type exchange? (Secret Santa is probably a very Western tradition, where if you choose to participate, you draw a name of a co-worker who also signed up at random, buy them a gift, and don't tell them it was you who gave it to them). Actually, it's your choice if you tell them or not. I participated this year, and I received a cute holiday mug and a 40 pack of organic tea bags with some flavors I am interested in trying (Moroccan Mint? Jasmine? Yum!). I am a big tea drinker at work and have really cut down on coffee, so it's like the perfect gift. For my secret santa gift to my coworker, I don't know her or her likes all that well, so I got her a bunch of bath/body products. Hopefully she likes that. Do you do Secret Santa at your job?

Yeah, I probably shouldn't be, but truly my job is REACTIVE and not PROACTIVE, so when I have down time and no projects to do, I am able to kind of do my own extra curricular projects. Have a wonderful day!

My daughter told me yesterday that the teachers had a faculty Christmas party yesterday and it made the school smell so awful. That is awesome the present you got!

My team did a Secret Santa this year. We exchanged the gifts at our Christmas party a couple of weeks ago. We had to keep it a secret until the person guessed who it was. My husband did one yesterday at work. They couldn't even put the person's name on the gift, they had to get that person's gift tag from a bulletin board so that the receiver would not be able to recognize the handwriting on the tag. That is taking it a bit too far. I received a coffee mug for my gift (it was a $10 limit) and my husband received a 1,000 jigsaw puzzle and a package of neon coloured golf tees. You got a really great gift.

I don’t celebrate Christmas, but when I taught, we had Secret Santa every year. Once, someone left me gorgeous sterling silver candlesticks and candles! I couldn’t believe it. I still have them to this day. I still don’t know who it was to this day. Funny, I used to drink tea at work. That was the perfect gift for you!

We have it at work but I didn't participate this year. Just not in the mood.

I wanted to do a secret Santa, but this year my coworkers and I decided on a white elephant party. That way if someone forgets or doesn't want to participate they won't feel obligated. I'm excited. I hope your holiday and new year are amazing!
