Hey there, everyone. It's been a while since I've done a "Facts About Me" post, so I thought I'd do a Christmas 2019 Edition. 1. I love starting the Christmas season with The Muppet Christmas Carol, which I usually watch the evening of Thanksgiving. 2. We always decorate our tree in a theme, and this year, my sister and brother-in-law decided on a fairytale theme. I'm attaching a picture, isn't it cute lol?! :) 3. I enjoy sending -and receiving- Christmas cards. 4. I also enjoy Christmas shopping, even though my bank account doesn't enjoy it lol. But I love choosing gifts for others. :) 5. We sort of have several Christmas Eve traditions. The first is a gift exchange between my Mom and I, as it's a tradition the family had growing up, so we like to still do it. It's usually snacks or socks, something small but nice. :) My older sister has the "Elves" drop off PJs for each kid (the youngest still believes in Santa, the older three play along). I'm usually the one who places the PJs on their beds while they're visiting their other Grandmother. And sometimes, I like to re-watch The Muppet Christmas Carol and wrap last-minute gifts. If you celebrate Christmas, do you have any facts or traditions? And if you don't celebrate, I hope the month of December has still been good to you. :) I'm gonna finish my order and head offline, as I have plans tonight. You all have a great weekend and take care. :) Photo Credit: It's my picture, as I wanted to show off the fairytale Christmas tree. :)

Your fairy-tale Christmas tree is adorable! I send Christmas cards, but not very many this year. Our tradition, we spend the day at our daughter's home, share gifts, and enjoy watching the children open presents! I buy PJs for the smaller children, each year. They grow out of them fast, at four months and two years old. I miss exchanging gifts, with my mother she's in heaven!

Thank you so much! Honestly, I may not send as many next year. It depends on people to be honest. I'm glad you're able to celebrate with your family. I'm so sorry about your Mother. I know what you mean, my Daddy is in Heaven too.

How nice to decorate your tree in a theme. I like to decorate our Christmas table with something different every year. This year I have a miniature tree to place near each guest.

Sounds like fun. I never really had any family traditions growing up. But then, my siblings were out of the house when I was still young so I don't remember anything specific. Just my mom and I would go to midnight mass while my dad said he would stay home and "guard the presents". He just couldn't stay up that late. I've created my own traditions with my family which includes 5pm mass on Christmas Eve, Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and then the Christmas Eve box (which we won't do again until there are grandchildren to share that with. Christmas morning is opening of gifts with our family and then K will go to her fiance's for dinner. M doesn't have a boyfriend this year so she will probably share left overs with us.

@tammys85 I wrote an article about the Christmas Eve box ages ago, probably on this site. It has things to keep the kids occupied Christmas Eve. Depending on their ages it can be colouring book and crayons, new pj's, books, a movie, and snacks. I stopped doing it though as my kids are now 23 and 26.

@patgalca I probably commented on it too. I couldn't even tell you what *I* wrote about ages ago though lol. That's such a cute idea! I wanna do one for someone now. Maybe my Mom haha.

Thanks! I would say going to Midnight Mass would be a tradition. I'm glad you have your own traditions now. I've heard of a Christmas Eve box, but I've never seen one. I guess you put several gifts in it?

I love your tree. Traditions are good. I watch the Muppet Christmas Carol every Christmas too. I own the movie. That's great your sister has elves drop off the PJs for the kids. I'm sure they look forward to them each year. My traditions are changing. With my daughter in Texas and my older son not talking to me, it's just my younger son and grandson this year. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

Thank you so much! :) I own it on DVD, plus it's on Disney+ now. I love it. :D Oh they do, we love PJs in this house haha. The youngest is the only one who believes it's the Elves, but luckily, her older siblings are good sports who play along. :) I missed something here! I'm sorry your son isn't talking to you. :( I hope you enjoy the holiday with your younger son and grandson. Thank you, and I hope you do too.

@just4him Wow! That's terrible. :( I hope he does come back around soon. I love it! I'll continue my Thanksgiving evening and Christmas Eve traditions with "The Muppet Christmas Carol" every year now. :)

@tammys85 No worries. He disowned me after my granddaughter's birthday back in October. He'll come around again. Though it will take a while. Yes, it's a great movie.

That is great to know! And sounds like great Christmas Eve traditions! We have some too; on Christmas Eve we usually order Pizza and watch Home Alone (or some other Christmas movie) and then open gifts. And I like to send a receive Christmas cards too....just didn't know if anyone did that here til recently!

Thank you! Oooh, pizza and a movie sounds like a great way to celebrate! We've done pizza on Christmas Eve, but that's not an option this year considering none of us get paid again until after Christmas, but that's okay lol. Welp, now we know for next year!

@MommyOfEli2013 It sounds like a relaxing tradition. My sister and brother-in-law got money from his Mom for Christmas, so they used it to order pizza, so we got it after all lol. I loved Christmas Eve though, thank you! :) Yes, we can exchange if you want. :) I really don't give out my address much but I don't think you'd kill me.

@tammys85 It has become a nice tradition. That's great that you have done it too in the past. Sorry to hear that it is not an option this year though. Hope you'll still have a great one! And yes that is true, we do!

Our big deal is a new star ornament each year as a nod to custom from Finland of "Stars in the Heavens". Hubby is of Finnish descent. I read this in a book.

cool tree. We have a Christmas Eve tradition of going to my grand-aunt's house. We open presents on Christmas Eve. Although I broke that tradition this year by opening gifts on Christmas Day morning because I was too tired Christmas Eve night.

Your tree looks beautiful with those little fairies decorations hanging. I can sense the joy of Christmas in your words and good that you keep up with the traditions. We do not celebrate Christmas as such. But my daughters put up a decorated tree, sing carols and do some baking. I always have a couple of charity fund raising event during these holidays.
