After the phone appointment...

After I got off of the phone, I was able to take Angel for a walk, then call a Lyft to take me to the preschool. I hadn't missed too much of the party; I got to hear the kids sing and watch them decorate cookies (the cookie part was pretty funny).
After all the parents left with their kids, the teachers shut things down and cleaned up and then we went to a restaurant in the downtown area. I had some kind of tuna sandwich on bread I can't remember the name of--it was pretty tasty. The only trouble is, whenever we all go to a restaurant I can never hear anything between the ladies chattering around me and people at other tables talking.
We did our "White Elephant" gift exchange, though no one ever takes anything from anyone else. I got a book written by a High School teacher about things his students had written: ie: "My grandmother died last year. She hasn't been the same since. "
I haven't looked through the whole thing, yet.
While I was still at the school, I received some belated birthday gifts along with a couple of Christmas gifts from parents. I haven't opened them yet, but one of them is a card for Starbucks or someplace like that, I am 99.9% sure.
One of the teachers misunderstood about the white elephant exchange and got a gift for all of the teachers. She told me to open mine when I got home, so I did--she gave me a Toblerone bar and a box of Chocolate chip Scottish shortbread
They are now in the refrigerator along with a little box of See's candy that I got from one of the parents. I got a few Christmas-card sized envelopes too that I may open later. I have a feeling there might be gift cards in one or two of them, too--particularly the one from my boss.
Phew! So now the busy day is over. I had a few of the muffins I made recently for "dinner"--not much of a dinner, I know, but it's what I had.
Tomorrow I get to stay home, walk the dog when I'm supposed to, and not sit around waiting for any phone calls, though the one I waited for today was certainly worth it.
Hope your evening/morning/afternoon has gone well in your part of myLot land !
