Merry Christmas from Australia!

Perth, Australia
December 24, 2019 10:00am CST
For those who celebrate Christmas, just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I know it might seem early to a majority of you but it is the 25th here in Australia. My dad, brother, dad's friend and I will be going to my Nan and Pop's for lunch. I am glad my dad's friend is coming because if she didn't, she would be spending Christmas alone and we really didn't want that. So happy she is coming too. My other family members ( Aunty and cousins ) won't be with us this year. It doesn't feel like Christmas. Been a rough year. Am not even feeling this so called "Christmas spirit." But all my personal, tired, grouchy, depression-y thoughts aside, my heart still wishes the best for everyone who deserves it. I genuinely wish everyone here a happy time whether you celebrate Christmas or not. As cheesy and gag worthy as that sounds ( I'm not too good with emotions so sorry I'm spoiling a nice moment ) I honestly mean it. Glad to know my heart still has some warmth in it lol good sign! Merry Christmas!

@VivaLaDani13 You are such a sweet soul Danielle. I know some people who are alone and they like to be alone, but most people are depressed if they have no one and spend alone the holidays. I think that we all should be more for those who do not have family.

@LadyDuck Same to you Anna. Yeah it was nice to have her there. I remember when I was little, my dad, mum, brother and I went driving to look at Christmas lights and I saw this older man sitting inside his house eating by himself. ( mind you, there could have been someone else there I didn't see and he possibly already spent time with others or maybe he preferred to be alone ) but I just remember assuming he was all by himself and it broke my heart. So ever since I don't like when people are alone during certain occasions.

It was the celebration of the Three Kings the Magi over here and its a roller coaster emotion causes us to feel more tired and grouchy also. I sort of felt like you have on and off. Don“t worry we all feel that wishing you a Happy New Year 2020.

@VivaLaDani13 Thank you and I love Christmas sometimes when its not actually Christmas if you know what I mean. Actually I did not want to take the tree down in the finish but I did so. It feels like a New Year now but on the 1st its a bit hard to get the feel of it around you.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I'm sorry for any negative emotions felt during your celebration. Seems like many just weren't feeling it last year ( I had to retype this because I accidentally typed "This year." lol ) But yeah I'm just sorry it wasn't a full on positive time for you. And thank you very much. Same to you!

@lovinangelsinstead21 I do know what you mean. There have been many occasions I will watch Christmas movies or listening to Christmas music when it's not even near Christmas. And I feel that excitement and that good feeling but that feeling doesn't really come around when it's actually Christmas. I understand what you're saying. Well I really do hope that it won't be the same for you next time. I hope it will be 100% positive and full of enjoyment.

Merry Christmas! I'm a bit late here, but you would have been just on time for Norway since the main celebration is on the 24th here. Hope you're not affected by the forest fires, and that Australia soon gets a lot of rain. We could send you some, but I'd have to figure out how.

@VivaLaDani13 The media seems to make up things out of the blue some times. Quite a few years ago a then quite young relative of mine had a friend that liked fires, so that friend and another one got badly burned. The media got about everything wrong, how many they were, how burned they got, which hospital they were sent to and how they got home. When you know the story and read it somewhere else it is quite weird of they change the facts.

@Torunn Same to you! You're too kind thank you for that. There have been some very awful fires in Perth but I think much controlled now or maybe even out completely. It got really bad but apparently not as bad as the media made it out to be. A lot of people were calling in on the radio saying how the suburbs they live in aren't affected yet the media kept saying they were.

@Torunn I'm very sorry that your friend was dealing with it all. I know that the smoke can be really bad. I agree! I kinda take what the media says with a grain of salt. Magazines are horrible too. The things they do to try and make money off people. It's disgusting really.

Dani, you still have lots and lots of warmth in your heart, whether you realize it or not! Never self-doubt yourself in that way, as I know you are a very thoughtful and caring person! Love ya lots, and thanks for the Christmas wishes!

@moffittjc Well I mean I know I care but some times it's like I don't want to care to avoid hurt. Not sure if that makes sense. I also know that I really do care about people, animals and the world but I get so angry with how people are destroying everything and it makes me so angry and sad that I wish I could turn those emotions off because it's hard seeing people starving, animals being hurt, nature being destroyed. It's like I'm so angry and disappointed in people for doing it that I feel I'm trying to switch my mind and heart off from it and just expect the worst rather than us all to change for the better. Does that make sense?
