Christmas ruined for a friend.............

Suzie survived the surgeries. She has a broken arm, leg, several ribs and spinal fractures. At 87 she's getting the best kind of pain killers she'd be allowed as she is also diabetic and has heart problems. Carol said she's surprised she was able to survive all of that but is happy she did. I'll probably find out more today but please keep praying, she's not completely out of the woods yet.

Thank you. I wish someone had taken the keys from that witch before she got into her car.

@rebelann Yesterday a drunk driver has killed two young girls who were crossing the street in Rome. The drunk driver was 24, the girls 16 and 18.

That is so sad @LadyDuck Sometimes I wish there wouldn't be any Christmas parties or if there are some then no booze at any of them. I've only known one person who would invite people to his Christmas party only if they brought a sleeping bag with them so they could stay the night and not have to drive. I never went to any of them but I heard someone say it was a lot of fun and turned out to be a wonderful way to get his guests to help clean up the next morning. I never drive if I'm having a drink or two, therefore when I go out somewhere I stick to drinking coffee or water.

I'll be surprised if she survives for long but I hope I'm wrong.

Sadly I'm thinking the same thing. With her previous conditions this is not something I expect her to actually survive for long especially because of the spinal fractures, it's hard enough for a strong young person to survive.

I just hope that her family gets through the holidays with some hope for her recovery so that if she succumbs it will happen after the New Year @jaboUK I'm not really sure if that's even a good way to think but like you I also don't think she has the strength to survive all those injuries.

Omg! Such damage to her poor body. You know she’s in my prayers and thanks for the update. I was able to read and see the link! She deserves jail time and her license suspended for life!

Poor soul. I hope she is able to overcome these injuries. They do sound severe.

They were far more severe than her little body could handle. She passed on the 27th.

This is so terrible and many would not be able to survive. The medication alone would be the end of some of us, wouldn't it?

I think she's probably on a morphine drip via IV, she's probably going to get stuck in the hospital for a while.

She passed away on the 27th. Everyone felt it was for the best as she would have been in severe pain for months given all those injuries.

Thank you. You're right, there's never a good time but somehow winter seems the worst time especially for an 87 yr old.
