Almost an Accident.

The rain did finally come, it was gloomy all day Christmas. A gush of wind blew something and the noise woke me up. After checking, it was just the tin foil in the kitchen. Glad the neighbor's roof didn't fall on me. Sigh. Netflix was on, I suppose I dozed off on a movie but couldn't remember what. A documentary was on screen, about a Brazilian Formula One Driver, and I lingered on, it's the first time I was seeing a race again, our Philippine television has ceased showing races when I was young. Then a scene in the documentary where the camera records the race from the driver's perspective rewired a scene in my memory early this Christmas morning, when I was driving home from Mass, and at the highway, I avoided the orange barricades in the nick of time. Otherwise, I would have figured in an accident. Did thank my Guardian Angel right away, for the quick maneuver of the wheel, else I would have been dead meat. An odd post script to my Christmas Day but I was glad I remembered.

Good you had still good reflexes that you were able to steer away from that. Anyway in my place it was all gloomy and rainy since the 24th till today. Although we were technically spared from the wrath of the typhoon. The winds were not that strong though power trips every now and then. Other than that we have celebrated ours peacefully and was even able to attend Christmas mass despite the occasional heavy downpour during the day.

@eileenleyva ours was a small get together only just intimate moments with father and a nephew and my family. My wife gave me this musical box that plays saving grace. Cute and meaningful one.

Thank you. Not my time yet, I suppose. If there were many cars, I'd probably be gone. Sigh. I do feel guilty of mindlessness and recklessness. And just half an hour earlier, I was at Christmas Mass asking God for a pure heart. I should make amends soon enough. Glad to know you were safe from the storm, and Christmas pushed through as it should be. Did you receive any special gift?

I was supposed to attend the Christmass Mass in the 24th night but Mom had some stomach issues that I postponed it. They went to church the next day. Good thing you were very careful. Well, we don't have snow so the rain is the closest that we have to a cold weather.

It was carelessness on my part. There was not many a vehicle on the road, and I looked on the passenger's seat to look for my house keys, and when I looked at the roads again, I almost hit the barriers. Thankful to be alive. Not my time yet.
