Solar eclipse.....

Yes it has begun. And it's going to be the last one of the decade and perhaps the longest one so far as the news channels are reporting.
Though the whole of India can witness it, it is more prominent and spectacular views are expected in Southern parts of India. And they say that it will most spectacular in our city. Seems we can see the real ring of fire around the sun here.
That will take some time. It has begun at 8:08 AM and is supposed to end around 11. I am mostly watching it on TV. It's cloudy and chill outside. I would love to be snuggled up in warm blanket.

@vandana7 We have to wear those special glasses, even sunglasses don't protect us from harmful radiation.

Yes. It's better to stay safe and enjoy the beauty. Anyway we didn't get those special protective glasses and so could not go out. This was a long one for more than 5 hours in places but in India, it was a little more than three hours.

Seems people could not see it here also due to heavy clouds. It was not that visible. Bangalore got the maximum 90% in India but still clouds played villain.

@anil02 That's too cold. Are you using heater or something to keep yourself warm?

Yeah... I remember the one almost 30 years ago. We used plain glass applied some butteroil on it, and then heated to get the soot on it, and then watched it. Back then, we couldn't afford colored glasses, but more than that, we were not sure glass would be sufficient to shield our eyes from the intensity of harmful rays. We were naive enough to believe that soot would absorb it.

It is dull at this end as well. I have of late wondered if our axis has tilted more leading to global warming, and climate hazard. That is something we can't help. It may have happened due to volcanoes, earthquakes, or even the gravitational forces exerted by the Sun, and other planets. Not so long ago, there was a heavenly body that crashed in some part of Russia. Makes me wonder if that did the trick. Whatever be the reason, I think as humans we can do very little to prevent global warming. We are born to get boiled in our sweats or be baked.

That might be the reason but I have not heard or read about it so far. Global warming is a issue that needs every bit of our attention. And every little step to counter it counts.
