Uber has lost its license for London. The car taxi company had broken and bent numerous rules to keep fares and cab drivers wages down so their profits stayed high but finally snared on data keeping rules. It was banned on failure to report crimes, lax background checks and the use of Greyball software to dupe inspectors. It turned out drivers were sub contracting their cars to other drivers by changing the ID pictures on their app profile. Customers were getting into cars thinking their driver was the person on the pic they hailed on the app. On approximately 14,000 occasions the driver was not the one registered to the car, exposing young women to potentially dangerous situations. Uber have appealed.

There used to be Uber here and then Grab came. After a while, Grab bought the license of Uber so now it's only Grab that we have here.
