Lessons Learned from 2019 part 1

I have never been big on New Years resolutions. I do, though, believe in reflection on lessons learned. 2019 has resulted in numerous lessons. My daddy always taught that learning was a way of life, not just something you do at school. I am so thankful he passed on, to me, his love for learning. Here are some of the many lessons 2019 slammed on me:
1. Grief doesn’t fade with time. This year was harder without my daddy than when I first lost him.
2. Investing time and love into others does not insure they will love or respect you back.
3. You have to be ok with being alone because it will happen.
4. Good manners, hospitality, and consideration is a thing of the past. I, though, refuse to forsake those behaviors. I will just be out of place in today’s society.
5. You can love and miss someone you never met. We have a grand daughter who was born into the arms of Jesus. I just know she would have been as beautiful and sweet as her mommy and as strong-willed as her daddy.
6. It’s ok to ask God why. It’s ok to be frustrated in not understanding Him. It is absolutely ok to be honest with Him.

I'm sorry you had such grief in the last year. It's good to reflect on past times adn try to learn from them.
