Have you ever been to a 'Clothing Optional' beach?

I have, but only once and not to sunbathe. I was in film college in Vancouver, Canada and my class was to do our first year film project. Just a short film. The writer/director scouted locations for us to film our 'Tidal Wave' scenes and chose Wreck Beach, the only nude beach in Vancouver, as the location. The beach itself is very secluded. There is only one way to get there. You have to park your vehicle on the side of the road and walk down 1000 steps to the beach below. (huff/puff) Going down wasn't so bad but carrying all that film equipment back up was a b*t*h. It was funny because once we set up the equipment and began to film...many metres away from where the nudists were...the nudists began to approach us (in the nude) and ask us what we're doing. We told them and carried on with our 'News report of a tsunami'. Apparently, the writer/director did not acquire permission from park authorities for us to film there and park security booted us out. It was a fun but uncomfortable experience.

@Starmaiden that is true. I wonder why your director/writer choose that beach without prior knowledge that you have to get permit to film

@rakski We had a very early start time. About 6:30 am. He probably thought we could get in and out of there before any 'beachgoers' arrived so we'd be undetected. He was wrong.

I have been in one, in a clothing optional compound/resort. I am open minded, and I respect everyone's personal preferences. My friend is into it, and she wants to try this new place in Florida. As a friend, I promised I would tag along with her. She loved it and she was glad I was there for her. I did not participate but nobody gave me a hard time. I had a really good time getting to know everyone that we came across.

@Starmaiden Oh yes, I forgot to mention that. We were allowed to use our cellphones, but we were cautioned not to take pictures or videos. The place is so strict but they are not very restrictive.

I know that some beaches ban cell phones because of their cameras. Was this beach one of them?

Maybe because you guys were dressed, so they didn't allow you.

I think it had more to do with our camera equipment. We should have gotten permission ahead of time to film there so they could post notifications to the beachgoers of our presence there and what we were doing.

Well, I guess everyone should try new things. This one won't be on my list and I am glad you had fun.
