Day 153 Promise 203 Psalm 34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. 18 The LORD is nigh unto them who are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all. Do you feel like you’re drowning in trouble? You can’t seem to come up for air before something else happens. You get a good-paying job but all your money goes to pay for things that break down, unexpected emergencies, and the only place you’re getting ahead is on paper. David knew God heard his prayers and would deliver him out of every trouble he faced, whether it was on the home front or in war. As Christians, your enemy, Satan, comes against you on every side. He will do everything he can to destroy you because you put your trust in Jesus and God your heavenly Father. God promised to hear your prayers and deliver you from Satan’s hand and all the trouble he brings your way. You only need to believe, trust and pray. God also promised to hear the cries of the broken-hearted. Life brings trouble. You cannot escape this life without facing trouble. Often-times you need to get to the breaking point. Why? Because you believe you can handle everything life throws at you. When you realize you can’t do this life without God, He sees your broken heart and will come to your aid when you pray. He will deliver you out of Satan’s hand, and take care of all your needs. Your mission in life is to trust God and He will do the rest. Let’s pray: Father, help me trust You to take care of all my needs and keep me safe from the trouble Satan brings my way. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Many people have written the Bible, but it has never changed except to update the language so people understand it. It's still the same Bible, written by the power of the Holy Spirit.
