Day 157
Promise 207
Psalm 37:18 The LORD knows the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be forever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine, they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
Did you receive an inheritance? How long did it last? Did you invest it so it would last longer?
Nothing in this life lasts forever, yet David said there is an inheritance that will last forever to those who are upright and trust God in all things. Then when bad times and circumstances come, God will take care of them. He will not allow the wicked to prosper.
As Christians, you look forward to the day when you receive your inheritance and will be forever in heaven with your Lord. Did you know your inheritance started the moment you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord? You do not need to wait until you cross over from this life into eternity to receive your inheritance.
God promised Israel they would receive their inheritance, the land of Canaan. He promised they would live in the land and prosper in it. Your spiritual Canaan is heaven and it awaits all those who trust in Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Jesus promised He would provide your inheritance now and in eternity.
Mark 10:29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospels,
30 But he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Your inheritance is now through eternity. You only need to believe.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for taking care of me when Satan comes to destroy me and all that is mine, my children. Help me look to You when Satan attacks and remind him of his eternal destination, even as You secured my eternal destination in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
