The car needed water

There is a Too Long ; Didn't Read at the bottom
My hand was poised to knock on the door when I noticed it. The gold engraved name of Dr. Tacies was displayed prominitely on the door. The lettering almost had an antique feel to it, as if it was a nod to a past profession. I knocked on the door and was greeted by a small lady with beautiful hair and a brilliant smile. She spoke to me in stilted English, but we were able to understand each other well enough.
I asked for water for the car and she nodded and went to retrieve it. A few minutes later a man with silver hair came to greet me. In one hand he held a cup of water, his other was outstretched for a handshake.
It was at that time that he noticed the scrape on my knee, something I had remembered getting, but had totally forgotten about in the interim. He placed the water down and insisted on cleaning the wound for me. We were in a dusty and dry area, and he insisted that he didn't want the wound to get infected. We chatted for a few minutes as he tended to my scrape.
I learned that he was a veterinarian but had some training as a regular doctor before he realized his true dream was healing animals. I told him that I was just on my way home after attending a reunion with some old classmates. A few minutes later we were shaking hands again as I thanked him for his attention to my wound and for the use of some water.
He opened the door for me and that is when I noticed it, the car was gone. My uncle had driven away without me.
I looked to the doctor, equal parts angry and scared. He took me by the arm and lead me back inside to sit down. He started pacing back and forth as he talked. Explaining to me that they could use a sort of technician, it wasn't a role that required any training. I just needed to be there to soothe the animals. He had an extra bed in his house and I could stay there, it once belonged to his son's wife before she up and left him.
Or, he said, he could possibly get his son to bring me to the border. I'd have to walk the rest of the way across, but that wouldn't be very far, and he was sure that one of the officials would take pity on me.
It was up to me to decide.
Then I woke up
TL;DR : Basically part of a dream wherein the car we were using required water, I went to knock on the door of a veterinarian and was left behind. I was given an ultimatum to stay (and possibly marry) his son or have his son take me to the border. We were in Mexico

I didn't even add all the details. Like the fact that the doctor really wanted me to marry his son.
Or the fact that I had been given a check before I arrived at that doctor's office.
I guess I remember some and not so much others. I find when I do a lot of reading, my dreams are more vivid and I remember them more.

@RebeccasFarm I've been told that I should write a book, but I dunno. It would be one of those volumes of stories, and I don't think they are as popular as they once were.

My aunt was telling me that yesterday when I was telling her about my dreams. I have considered it before. Thank you for the compliment. Unfortunately, I'm the most creative (with writing) when I am talking about my dreams.

I cut some parts out of it or it would have been longer.
