My daughter just left.

It was nice to see her and chat for a few mins. she left to go borrow money from someone. She is in need of a few things until Friday. I am not offering any help so I just kept my mouth shut while she expressed her situation. I feel cold-hearted but I am not parting with a dime unless it's for myself. I was forced to be this way so I will muster up the strength to feel ok with it. I don't like it but it's working best for me at the current moment.

Sometimes it is better to listen than it is to give. Giving your time is enough!

You did it well. I know feel bad, but it is the best for you, and for her too.

Sometimes refraining from helping is a lesson to your daughter. I will also do that to make her learn what is right about money.

@sharon6345 I will be on that. Be strong in those times that you have to refuse them.

You are doing the right thing. Kay is an adult and she needs to figure things out for herself.

You are doing the right thing by not helping her out if she needs it bad enough she will find a way to get it

I am putting all my money on my bills. I will be better off when my cards are paid off. If I did not have the car I would be done already.

You're doing the right thing. Sometimes the best thing you can do is save the money for yourself and let her deal with her situation.

I think it’s one way to help her realize as well that you’re not going to be around forever. Saying no is another way of helping her. Don’t feel bad.

I did not have to say no this time. she is used to me offering when I hear she needs it. I noticed she would use her bill money for other things and then come to me for it. Once I saw that for myself I stopped all of it.

That’s good. I would definitely do the same thing if I were in your shoes. People sometimes need help, I understand that and it’s very okay to help or ask for one but not to the point that it’s becoming an excuse. But as what I’ve said before, there’s always hope for her to do and become better. Keep praying for it.

you are not an atm, sometimes people have to figure out where to get money if they are short, or ways to earn it.
