I regret not cleaning

Philippines

We were able to sweep off most of the ash the other day. I was planning to wash off the roof yesterday but postponed because it was getting dark. Now I forgot it's scheduled maintenance today and there's no water for the whole day. But it's gloomy today so I hope some rain would come. I'm just worried that our roof could come down with all of these ash.

Hopefully your roof will withstand the ash. Ash is normally very light.

Ours is volcanic ash which composed of sand/dust and ash and if you happen to be near the volcano you might have some small stones in it too which makes it heavier when it is accumulated on your roof.

@JudyEv Yeah the ashes we are having now is quite different from the one you are having there. Ours is volcanic ash because of the recent volcanic eruption near our place.

Hope not. Don’t worry it’ll rain. It will. But if it won’t, careful when you’re on the roof.

Is it still pouring volcanic ash up to this moment?

Trouble is that I think something got loose from the inside the roof when I was on it @MGjhaud

Well they are not advising that you wash them with water as they say it may clog your drainage if you do so. Maybe you can slowly remove them to reduce the stress on your roof.

Hello @rsa101 I was afraid of that but I did it anyways. I hose some of them but couldn't remove them all this afternoon.

Is the ash due to volcanos?

Can you get on a ladder and sweep the ash off of your roof.

I was lucky to be able to clean our roof yesterday. Now if it rains then I will have no apprehension that the volcanic ash may clog the gutter and down spout. But rain seems to be far, far away.

I just change my mind and clean it later @Alexandoy that afternoon. Yeah it's January and it's almost over for the rainy season, unless climate change triggers again.

@Letranknight2015 our roof is completely cleaned and even the tent of the extended garage. I just hope that there will be no round 2 of the ash fall, waheehee.
