Friday 10th January - the first meeting of the book club this year and a very well attended lovely event it was too. I've reviewed the book we covered, Sandra Cisneros's The House On Mango Street seperately.
Saturday was a quiet day in, as was Sunday though there was some awful news. My mum phoned to tell me that her four year old cat, Shadow had died. We knew Shadow had a heart condition, but it was a blood clot that killled her. She started writhing in agony so my Mum rushed her to vet who sadly had to put her down. A lovley cat that was always keen to play with me when I visited. Shadow never stopped being a kitten.
An old friend from Manchester rang me too.
Monday 13th - A week of heavy job searching, and ue of the community centre started today.
Tuesday - My welfare advisors told me the date of my next appointment with them, next Tuesday, with a new advisor too. They never let them stay in charge of my case for long.
Wednesday - A friend phoned to arrange to meet up with me in Manchester at weekend. Looking forward to that.
Thursday 16th January - More job searching, a friend found an old book on pubs which she kindly gave me, and I booked my train tickets for my trip to Manchester online.

Sorry to hear about Shadow, I do have a soft spot for black moggies, as you might have gathered from the piccies I've posted of my cats. I wonder why they keep changing advisors, I can't see there being a huge turnover of staff, but you never know

@Ronrybs they are mysterious - no wonder the Egyptians worshipped them as gods

@JudyEv especially if they have been with you for years - you get so used to their company

Oh dear Arthur
I am sorry to hear of poor Shadow. RIP the poor cat.
Will your Mother possibly get another pet? I know it is early yet.
Those officers change a lot yes in the welfare.
That must be stressful.
Maybe you will get a nice one one time.
Good you will meet your friend at the weekend.
A nice trip.
Take care then.

@RebeccasFarm she says she won't get more pets now sadly but she is nearly 80 so it would be demanding for her

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum's cat. Beautiful cat. That's terrible. I'm glad you will be meeting up with a friend. I know the pub book was a good gift for you. I hope your job search is fruitful. Have a good day.
