Few days ago I bought a new filter on the fish kiosk when I noticed this flower horn. I didn't take interest because this fish is expensive and delicate for care.
But when he told me that the smallest one was only 3$, I didn't hesitate to purchase it.
Sadly, I think this doesn't have the big head over it. I've only read a few post here about flower horn fish and some were not in favor for it.

I guess that is the reason why it is sold at that price. I think they are really hardy fish but they need a large space to swim on. I also think they are carnivorous as well and can become a bit territorial and they might need to be aggressive with other fish so they should be put in their own tank and not mixed with other kinds of aquarium fish.

@Letranknight2015 Yup as it grows stronger and and realises that he/she needs space she'll become protective and become territorial in time. For now I guess being alone in a new aquarium she's trying to learn her ways in there. you can feed her live foods like worms and others so she can grow faster and healthier

Hello @rsa101 For the moment he/she's too small for being aggressive. I hope the fish grows to be friendly with them.

@rsa101 To be honest I don't want the flowerhorn to grow faster because I've seen what it does to other fish. Like you said it will need huge space.

@Letranknight2015 of course, why not? Have you seen a video of a half tilapia pet? half tilapia? survived?

Turns out there are other kinds of flower horn and this might have no big head. Besides, I used to have one that was a gold fish like and its head was eaten.

The problem with flowerhorns is they are not very sociable, you can't mix them with other fishes.
