The thing that happened...

This morning I mentioned a nice (but bittersweet) surprise that I got this morning while walking Angel.
I walked past a house where I knew the people were going to be moving, and noted the "For Sale" sign was gone. There was a man standing out front, and I thought I'd say "Welcome to the neighborhood", but he was texting or something on his phone. He must have seen me or something because he raised a hand as if to say "wait a minute".
A few seconds later he was off the phone and asking how I was and etc...
Turns out it was the father of two of the kids that go to the original preschool where I currently am a substitute.
He showed me a picture of them and how they've grown on his phone, and when I left I thought, "Whoa, small world!"
The bittersweet part is that I'll be moving one of these days.
Ah, well. We'll see each other some until then.

It is a very small world indeed. Maybe you'll get to see his children when they visit their father sometime before you move. That would be a nice surprise.
