That was a terrifying few minutes

There is a TL;DR at the bottom.
I watched as two of my friends got into their car, both of them offering a short and excited wave as they started the car and ventured onward. A few moments later, two joggers came to flank their card one on either side. I thought nothing of at first, until the cars sped along behind them, forcing them to increase their speed.
That is when I knew it was over, that if they were to survive this, it would be a miracle. Two more vehicles joined the flock, except these two vehicles pulled in front of them, causing them to decrease their speed. I couldn't see my friends faces anymore, but I could imagine that they were wrought with worry and confusion.
Then it happened. The two cars in front of theirs completely stopped. A man from one of the vehicles jumped out, a gun in his hand. He motioned my friend's wife to get out of the vehicle, she hesitated at first, giving her husband a tearful hug and kiss before doing as she was told.
The man motioned her to stand in front of the first vehicle in the line. Then he motioned for her husband to do the same. The two lovers intertwined their hands as I watched, helpless to do anything.
People started to come from behind buildings, from inside stores. Each of them were holding American Flags and singing The National Anthem. The man with the gun raised it in the air and fired off three times.
When he spoke, his words offered relief. "Welcome To Our Country and THANK YOU for your service."
The crowds around them began to embrace my two friends and each other.

TL;DR : Had a dream that I was on a military base in another country, two of my friends were leaving from a get together we were having, and ended up being flanked by people appearing to be aggressive. They weren't.

About 20 years ago I started to research dreams, how to lucid dream and how to remember dreams. It's just something that come second nature now. Of course it helps that I don't have an alarm disrupting me.

It's actually a lot simpler than it might seem. From what I remember reading in the past, you'll want to "state your intention" so to speak. That is, you need to think about what you want to dream about right before you go to sleep. It needs to be what is on your mind as you lay there waiting for sleep to come.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I have always had an interest in lucid dreaming. Never researched it or tried to find out how to do it. But I'd like to be able to control my dreams...especially if I encounter a beautiful woman.

Wow, you had me going through the entire discussion! I thought this was real. The whole time I was thinking, where in the hell are you that something like this is happening? lol

You have to look at the bottom of my discussions first. I usually write "this is a dream" or "and then I woke up".1 person likes this

In my dream, it seemed as if we were in Germany.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Well Germans were the only ones who surely did not greet Americans.

@LadyDuck Yes, which is why I thought the dream was so odd.

Yes, it is. part of one of my weird dreams. It was actually longer than this, but I only wrote a bit of it so as not to make it so long.

Right now, this is the only place I am writing them down. I used to save them on my computer, but I don't do that at the moment. Atleast I have them here.

Yes, it was a long time ago. The dream about the gas station was actually part of this dream, and preceeded this one.

It felt frightening at first, especially as I could see what was going on but was powerless to stop it.
