January 15 was "Wikipedia Day". This online lookup went public in 2001 and has become the sixth most-visited site on the web. Both newspaper editors and college professor have told their students for years not to totally rely on this site because of its open policy in letting anyone write or edit on its pages. A study in 2015 found that Britannica was found to have 2.92 mistakes per article where Wikipedia has 3.86. I found it interesting to note that an editor by the name of Steven Pruitt has contributed to more than 35,000 pages on Wikipedia which is about a third of the sites published articles. He has volunteered his time and Time magazine named him one of the most influential people on the internet in 2017.
