Last Friday I get really bothered by my toothache and although I don't have enough money I decided I will go to the dentist to get tooth extraction. I came Saturday but the clinic said there is no dentist because they attend a wedding and they scheduled me on Monday. I was both excited and worried because I really want to get rid of the pain worried because I don't like the pain of the needle when putting anesthesia. Monday came and they are a late and I wait for long but thankful I'm second in the line. The male dentist said I look pale and I don't know how but I mentioned to him I have insomnia. He ask me if I take medicines and then he worried that maybe my medicines are blood thinner. He did not want to do the procedure unless I get a medical clearance from my primary doctor giving me permission to undergo the tooth extraction. He ordered a CBC and platelet test and since there is a diagnostic laboratory near our home I went there immediately and got a test. The test showed I have low hemoglobin and I'm anemic but my platelet count is high. I go back to the dentist but he still is strict and won't help me relieve my toothache. He said I might collapse or maybe have heavy bleeding. It made me more terrified to get tooth extraction. We contact a family friend who is a dentist but she too is worried she said I need to have checkup again. The last time I get tooth extraction they don't have many questions and test they just let me lie on the chair and start pulling my teeth and nothing bad happens to me and I'm relieve. Now that their dental clinic is more sophisticated they don't easily allow people to get extraction like they usually do. For the mean time I just take medicine to relieve the pain. I pray to God to help me find the best dentist, my anemia get solve and solve this toothache as soon as possible

Yes I can go to another dentist to my aunt's best friend. She is my original dentist but I think I need to solve my anemia first

@hereandthere I would do what the dentist asks, I would not risk an infection.

Ouch, that runaround by the dentist caused you to spend for the lab test and the painful tooth is still there. That's disgusting.

They say they serve with a heart. They change after years past. I got tooth extracted from them before and they don't take your BP or ask you so much. But now they got more stricter but they should think that they should just do their best to help people get rid of the pain not making it harder or costlier for you. Anyway maybe it is just for my good too

When I had my wisdom teeth out I had to get blood tests done and a clearance from my doctor. Very frustrating when your in pain that way and keep running into issues.

Your dentist is right, because if there is a complication you can get a serious hemorrhage followed by infection. If I remember well your tooth broke and it was coming down in pieces, so it is not an easy extraction this one.

He did the correct thing. Tooth extraction often leads to big complications

Tooth ache is really disturbing thing and has to treat the same as soon as possible. May be the Dentist don't want any complications. Better take some pain killer and treat the other problems before extracting the teeth..

Luckily the pain is not really that great and still bearable. I need to fix my anemia and raise my blood pressure

Its because you have a condition dear. That's medical protocol. They won't do certain procedures to you if you are not fit. Unless you are cleared of it all then I think no dentist would agree to extract your tooth just yet. They won't risk you nor their profession by doing something they know might get you or them in trouble. Be thankful you got to know you are anemic. See a doctor for it and talk to your dentist for now about that tooth pain that's bothering you; if they could offer you any temporary relief. If you want you can also seek other dentists' opinion. If all of them says the same, then it only means that's what's best for you.

Thank you. Yes they are not being bad to me. They are just thinking of my safety and we don't get into trouble. I've been taking for granted to take my CBC and now I discover I have anemia I have to remedy it. I will keep my self healthy first and fit for the dental operation
