I got to enjoy another small project the other day. One of the kid chairs at the preschool had broken, and I got to be the one to glue it back together. I used two different kinds of glue, and the project was successful.
An adult had sat in the chair (not me), breaking it, but I was able to "analyze" the situation, and figured out that the big body alone did not break the chair.
The teachers had allowed the bolts to work loose. This meant that the chair was "wobbly." The vertical force of a bug butt on the chair would not have caused it to break. But the loose bolts meant that there were horizontal forces on the wood of the seat that cause it to separate.
When I brought the chair back the next day, I brought a pair of pliers and a hex wrench as well. I tightened down the bots on all of the similar chairs. I should charge union wages for my fix-it skils. Heh.

Glad it could be fixed. Better an adult breaking it than a kid.

It's good you did a bit of maintenance on all the chairs. Isn't it called being proactive rather than reactive?
