My dad had the surgery....

Perth, Australia
January 23, 2020 6:06am CST
My dad was supposed to have surgery on his toe on Tuesday afternoon but he rang me up to tell me it got cancelled due to someone else needing an emergency surgery. So the surgery took place yesterday roughly around 8:20am. From what I understand, only the tip of his toe was amputated instead of the whole toe. He is doing well. I just come back from seeing him. I wanted to see him earlier during the day but I haven't been well so saw him this evening with my brother. Apparently my dad MIGHT be coming home tomorrow. That's pretty much all to update regarding my dad. I am very tired and not very well at the moment ( just pains on right side of chest when I breathe deep and pain goes into my right shoulder ) Could be from coughing a lot. Will deal with that later but for now, I would love to come back on here as I know I have a lot of notifications. Just want to eat dinner first and have a shower so will see you guys a bit later. Thank you for reading. Hope you're all doing well.

It must be a relief that he only had the tip amputated rather than the whole toe. Take care of that chest and see a doctor if it continues,

@VivaLaDani13 That's good. The winter is a bad time for chest complaints.

@sprite1950 It is Summer here. It might be from stress / anxiety or maybe because even though I finished a cold weeks ago, I'm still dealing with a cough. So could be from that.

@VivaLaDani13 by now I think he is already home and just planning on what to do about his job since he needed a recovery rest period.

@Alexandoy Yes he is home. It's all up to his boss really. If his boss is ok waiting another week then that will be good.

@VivaLaDani13 I hope that is the last of the surgery for your dad. I am glad he is doing well. I hope you are feeling better. Sorry you are not feeling well. Dani, take care of yourself. Do you have anything that you can take or do for the pain?

@Hannihar Thank you very much. I hope it will be his last surgery too. The pain has thankfully gone away on it's own. I did have some painkillers and used heat packs. Could have been from coughing too much or apparently stress and anxiety can do it too. But not sure. Just glad it's stopped.

@VivaLaDani13 You are welcome. I am so glad that the pain went away on its own too. Stress can make one sick too and worrying can also. I am so glad it stopped too.

Wishing your Dad a speedy recovery. Those aches and pains in your chest could be stress related. If they continue to be bothersome you should see a doctor for a checkup just as a precaution. I'm sure you've seen enough of hospitals to last you awhile

@dgobucks226 Thank you so very much. Thankfully the chest pains left but I have a feeling it was stress related like you said. Thank you for your concern and support. I appreciate it.

@dgobucks226 Thank you. I hope so too. My dad and I are already ready for some not so great news. My Pop ( his dad ) is suffering badly with Dementia. Apparently he is just in the first stage but it's rapidly getting worse. But hopeful this year can still be good.

Oh it sounds like you are miserable with a cold. I am glad your dad got seen quickly and did not lose as much of his toe. How old is he? How do the doctors tell him to prevent this from recurring?

@GardenGerty Thank you kindly. My dad is 50 something. I think 55? Last year and I assume this year they are telling him to get proper shoes, to make sure to take action if he sees any cuts on his feet and to eat healthy too which he is doing all of the above ( though still needs to get the shoes )

If he already comes back home is good news, he should not have problems with his job. I think that your pain could be from coughing a lot. Try to rest, now you can relax. Take care.
