I have a weird smoking history. I started smoking cigarettes when I was 8. But I did not inhale until I was 13. I smoked cigarettes until I was about 26. So, about 13 years. Then I quit smoking for 13 years. I started back up for whatever reason when I was 39. I smoked real cigarettes again for about 4 years. After that I decided to take up vaping. I have been doing that for about 4 years. I was using a company for vape juice and supplies called VistaVapors. But recently they just went out of business. So, I switched to another company called VapeWild. I just tried one of their juices, and I have to say I like it. So, as much as I am unhappy that VistaVapors went out of business, I think I am going to like VapeWild. I hope they stay in business a while. I need my vape. For better or for worse.

Well Jim, you're a big boy, and can make big boy decisions about what you do with your life and your body. So I'm not going to preach. Everybody has their vices in life. I chose long, long ago to never take up smoking. But I have bad habits just like everyone else. If vaping or smoking makes you feel batter, then more power to you. Just be prepared for the consequences later in life. Oh, sh*t, sorry, I just preached. Forget what I said there! haha

@porwest I know it's hard. I think even for people who have successfully quit for decades, there is always that urge or craving for nicotine.

@porwest I'm sure it's very difficult to know that the rest of your life you have a chance of relapsing. I don't know if that's motivating inspiration to avoid temptation, or a scary thought knowing you could relapse at any moment. Or maybe it's both. Either way, I know it's not easy.

@moffittjc Yeah. I have to say, it never goes away. You think about it less, but it always pops up from time to time.

Gee, 8 years old. I wonder who taught you to smoke at that very young age.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's. Back then that is all anyone did. I inhaled more smoke than I care to admit. I became addicted I am sure just from all the smoke I inhaled. Back then EVERYONE smoked.

@porwest yeah I was in that age bracket and I started smoking at 16 on the influence of friends.

@Alexandoy I think for me I just saw everyone doing it, and for whatever reason it appealed to me.

What made you start smoking at 8? Reminds me of that boy (I think he was Asian) who smoked and smoked a lot. Hubby used to smoke but he recently switched to vaping. He uses Juul. I don't think he is doing his body any better by vaping and wish he would stop doing it. But on the plus side, he doesn't stink when he vapes and there is no smell at all from it.

@porwest It seems to me that sometimes his breathing is not normal... but maybe I am just imagining things.

@porwest Nope. I would think that when a person breathes it is faint and you can barely hear a person breathing. There are times with him it is not the case.

Me too actually. I wish I would never have started back up after 13 years of having quit. Ugh. It is what it is.

@amitkokiladitya Certainly not doing either is probably the best choice. But I still enjoy it.

I started smoking from 18 yrs old and vape only from 2017. I use blu. I like the device for it's so simple and costs only 10.99 when you can find it. The pods a pair is 9.99. So it's ok, but one day I'd like to quit, completely and be done with it. I take a lot of herbs and anti cancer foods, too.
